Fraudsters made £7m profit by bulk buying then reselling concert tickets

How come it is often so difficult to buy tickets at face value for concerts in the UK? Well, we got a step closer to understanding why, and how criminals are leveraging super-powerful computing resources to make multi-million pound profits, thanks to Britain’s first ever successful prosecution of bulk ticket resellers. The two convicted ticket touts will be sentenced later this month but the evidence showed one haul of a thousand Ed Sheeran was bought for £79,000 and then resold at three times’ face value for £222,000 through secondary market platforms like Viagogo.
