Next up in England, the rescheduled Rugby League World Cup 2021

Three tournaments. Sixty one matches. The Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) is the next major sporting event to grace England's shores this year following the hugely successful UEFA Women's Euro 2022 Football Championship and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

It all kicks off at St James' Park, the home of Newcastle United FC, on the 15th October 2022 when England take on Samoa. With a Men's and Women's double header set for Manchester United's Old Trafford on Saturday 19th November and the Wheelchair final scheduled the day before on the 18th at Manchester Central, in the heart of Manchester city centre.

This will be the biggest and most inclusive world cup the sport has held with host towns and cities presenting twenty one different venues for all three tournaments. As well as unique venues such as Arsenal's Emirates Stadium in London, the traditional Rugby League heartlands of the North East, North West, Lancashire and Yorkshire will play host to many fixtures. This includes the birthplace of the sport, Huddersfield.

Despite the event being delayed for a year due to covid, the RLWC2021 organisers are confident that the event will bring economic impact from local & international tourism and that their transformational social impact programme will drive positive change in local communities.

Ticket sales have been positive with unique hospitality experiences proving to be very popular. The hospitality programme presents a range of options and experiences to suit businesses, families, die hard Rugby League fans and those wanting to experience the sport & the iconic venues for the first time.
