The Sports Technology Awards Shortlist Is Out – And DAIMANI Is On It!

There are many great ways to start the day but one of the very best is to wake up to the news that your company has made it through to the shortlist for the prestigious Sports Technology Award.

In DAIMANI’s case, we are shortlisted for Best Digital Technology, along with Chelsea FC, Deltatre, OpenBet, PlayMoregolf and Rowing Ireland.

‘To quote Ralf Waldo Emerson, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm” and that’s the secret of DAIMANI’s success,’ said Jean-Edouard Courcier, the company’s head of partnerships, who lead the engagement with STA Group, the London-based organisers of the awards. ‘All of us are delighted to be in the same company as our fellow shortlisted nominees.’

The awards ceremony – which will take place in person for the first time in two years – will be held at the Londoner in Leicester Square on May 12.

There are 19 categories in this year’s Sports Technology Awards representing 110 brands, 37 sports and with representation from five continents. For a full list click here.

‘Everyone at DAIMANI has used the down-time forced on us by the pandemic to really sharpen our technological offer for third parties, offering our Software as a Service.’

DAIMANI’s technology partner SAP explains how the world's first hospitality marketplace for all major VIP hospitality experiences manages data with SAP Customer Data Cloud

Zurich-based DAIMANI is the first global e-commerce platform for official VIP Hospitality, backed by technology partner SAP, and live-sells in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and simplified Chinese.

As well as the almost-500 events live-selling on the DAIMANI platform, the company is the exclusive international sales agent for Rugby World Cup 2023’s official hospitality programme, the exclusive hospitality rightsholder of the World Athletics Championships Oregon22, and a co-exclusive international sales agent of the 2022 French Open.

Prior to the Live Event lockdown in May 2020, DAIMANI was selling more than 1200 events on a live click-and-buy basis, and is confident of building back to that number by April.

Courcier said the company had recently delivered a white-label selling solution for the commercial partner of a global sports event hosted in the Middle East that integrated flights and hotel inventory with official tickets, and had implemented white-label, sales-widget solutions for a number of Rugby World Cup exclusive sales agents, as well as World Athletics and the Oregon22 local organising committee.

‘We are the selling platform the professionals use.’

‘Whether you are buying over DAIMANI or from one of our API or sales widget projects we never charge a booking fee or re-charge credit or debit card commissions. And when we create a white-label solution the customer journey stays 100 percent on the rightsholder’s site, so it supports SEO rankings, Google Analytics and the rightsholder’s data collection,’ added Courcier.

The judges for the 2022 awards include Canal Plus’ head of sports digital content Sébastien Audoux, Melissa Lawton, Facebook’s head of sports production, Nike’s ecommerce business lead Chelsea Suitos and Jamie Hindhaugh, the COO of BT Sport.

Last year’s Best Digital Technology winner was the Bleachr App: ‘a studio in your pocket that allows sports organizations to engage and monetize remote fans’.
